I am a very active person in my life, always moving or doing something productive or taking care of other people. The Paula Method really helped me slow down and sit still to recalibrate myself in the middle of the day to focus on myself and my body's needs. I learned I could listen to my body and have it guide me to what feels good. The method taught me not to "work through discomfort" but acknowledge it and redirect myself to something that feels better. It was really healing to focus on tiny movements which I take for granted on a daily basis that my body is capable of doing. I found the method to be meditative and it is the most consistently I have gone into a meditative state in my life which has greatly reduced my anxiety. In addition, I used to experience symptoms related to urinary incontinence and rectal prolapse which I now very rarely experience. Thank you!

Nina is an absolute pleasure to work with - she went out of her way to ensure I was seen quickly, she asked excellent questions that got right to the heart of my multiple interconnected issues, her mastery of the topics is obvious, and it was the first time in months that I felt like somebody was finally going to be able to help me with the debilitating pain I have been experiencing. I have been working with Nina for a little over 2 months now and she has never been wrong about anything! She has helped me achieve my full time breastfeeding goal and has really helped me create a realistic schedule that balances out my daughter’s needs as well as my own. Everything is a work in progress with a baby…they are constantly growing and changing so Nina really helped me throughout this difficult yet exciting journey. Her knowledge and experience are way beyond something you can google. There is so much conflicting information on the internet and it really helps to have a professional explain everything! She writes very detailed notes which helped me remember what was discussed/learned during the appointment and allows me to look back at it whenever needed. (It definitely comes in handy when you are sleep deprived and can’t remember anything). She is super flexible and very easy to contact/communicate with!

Nina is extremely patient, compassionate, and empathetic - all key for such a sensitive topic. I was seen the same day that I requested a consult and had my insurance coverage verified by the time my appt came around. I know many folks who've worked with lactation consultants and 90% of the time, they felt extremely pressured to breastfeed and avoid formula at all costs and it created a lot of shame. When my kiddo wasn't getting enough food and my mental health was at risk, I switched to formula and Nina was incredibly understanding and supportive. Can't tell you how much that meant to a new first time mama!

Working with Nina provided so much relief. Nina brings such warmth, compassion, and confidence to the whole experience. As new parents (of a then a 5-day old) we thought we were doing everything right and then our baby stopped eating much, and diaper changes became few and far between. If you’ve been a new parent, you may understand that we thought we were failing and our baby was going to die (he wasn’t but it felt that way). Because he had lost so much weight, our pediatrician recommended seeking out a lactation consultant. From the first interaction with Nina to the last, we had an amazing experience. We reached out to Nina on a Friday afternoon, she was not only willing to meet with us in person the next day she also communicated everything we needed in advance to be ready for a successful session and spent all of our time together in session efficiently to answer all questions, help us reach our goals, and teach us as much as possible (breastfeeding, pumping, and other ways to feed our baby). In addition to all of the in-person support we received, it was incredibly helpful to be able to reach out to her in the following days with lingering questions. Nina also made countless resources and referrals available to us via her website to ensure we had everything we needed to know in writing in one, accessible place. All in all, Nina provided us with an invaluable service at a time when we needed it most!

After a severe case of mastitis, my breastfeeding journey took a turn for the worse. I worked with several lactation consultants but Nina was the only one to get me to exclusively breastfeed, which was my ultimate goal. There was a point where I had given up, but thanks to Nina my son and I are currently going seven months strong breastfeeding! She takes a holistic approach to her care and that really makes a difference.

Working with Nina was one of the best decisions I made as a new mom. I was completely overwhelmed with the early struggles of my breastfeeding journey, and Nina provided concrete help and compassion in those incredibly difficult first few weeks. She helped me to improve my positioning to sustain a deeper latch and eliminate nipple pain, identified tongue, lip and buccal ties in my son's mouth and provided guidance for next steps to resolve them, helped manage oversupply issues that initially caused mastitis, and was also simply an educator and a non-judgmental sounding board when things were really hard. After just a few sessions with Nina, my nipple pain and damage went away, my son's latch significantly improved, and I felt confident moving forward. She liaised with my OB, recommended a physician for my son's tongue tie and worked the craniosacral therapist my son was seeing to ensure they had a full picture of the support my son needed. I could never have expected to have received such thorough and thoughtful care and would recommend her to any new mother navigating the new frontier that is breastfeeding.

Nina is such a sweet person that I always feel like I’m taking to a friend when I'm talking to her. She is super thorough and pays attention to all details to not miss anything. We believed that if we were raised with no interventions and we are fine, then our kids should be raised the same way.
